Index of Subjects A few days ago our neighbour brought in a Monarch which she said did not appear to be able to fly. Since it was late in the evening I put it in a container. The next day was rainy so the following morning I took it outside. Try as it might (at least 30 mins) it could not lift off but did much flopping around and sitting "shivering" (presumably trying to warm its wings up). After it had got into a confined area I picked it up and tried to warm it by cupping it in my hands. After perching a short time it lifted off and flew around the yard before flying high in a tree where I lost sight of it. I was so happy to see it fly and am optimistic it is strong enough to make the southward journey. Angus
