Index of Subjects Interesting brochure. The photos certainly indicate a major change since my last visit there! I grew up nearby, and last knew Belchers Marsh prior to the development of the neighbouring area - as a nameless, bog-margined pond. Aside from the exception of the adjacent Bicentennial highway, it was a relatively quiet spot. During my last visit, in June of 1985 or '86, I briefly searched (unsuccessfully) for the nest of an agitated pair of Greater Yellowlegs. There were a couple of pairs of Fox Sparrows in the surrounding spruce scrub, and Rusty Blackbirds at the pond. Probably not the case today.... It is in Halifax, in Clayton Park West, east of Parkland Drive between Langbrae Ave and Farnham Gate Rd. You can see it on a map of the city. We have prepared a brochure which includes some human and natural history as well as a trail map. It can be found on our web site at www.halifaxnorthwesttrails.ca Hope that you visit one of these days. We have also identified over 100 species of plants in the Park, so it's a great spot for a walk (2.5 km of trail).
