Hi All
Yesterday as we canoed a remote stillwater, a yellow
caterpillar swam across in front of us. We stopped to
watch it. It was yellow with a black head and
segemented body ( 6 - 8 ? segements ). Each segment
had a few black hair between it and the next. Very
pretty.
It was making good time - for a caterpillar - the
surface tension kept it up nicely and nobody wanted it
for lunch. The stillwater was about 10 m across at
that point and it was nearly to the desired shore.
We also saw a Creek Chub. Seems they are quite
widespread in Nova Scotia but little known and less
seen. It was about 15 cms.
Have a nice end to summer
Paul
