Hi All Today was another white fish lake survey. At the start of the paddle we saw an eagle on a rock feeding on something. As we didn't want to interpert breakfast, we paddle a distance away. On the way back, we again passed the rock. This time the eagle - it was a mature eagle was on a tree, also an immature eagle. Prehaps even this years young as it was extremely dark and not a great flyer. They flew off a distance. We went over to find they were eating a cormorant. only a few feathers and some well cleaned bones were left on the rock. I saved the skull should anyone want it - let me know. Later as we passed another cove - we saw some disturbance in the water. It was a cormorant again trying to swallow a fish. The fish was between 25 - 30 cms and it was difficult to determine the variety. White belly and dark top fits the description of a sucker. The fish didn't go willing into that dark hole but in the end disappeared. The cormorant finished of its meal as it always does with a large drink of water. An interesting day. EWnjoy the late summer Paul __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
