these are covered with= Thanks, Chris. The fact that it was a carrion beetle doesn't say much for my wife's cooking! She was frying onions, peppers and mushrooms and the crittur was determined to get in the house and did by crawling along the track under the screen door. Very interesting about the "phoretic" mites and just one more example of the symbiotic relationships that exist in nature. Don't think I need them in the house though.
