Hi Paul &amp; All,&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Aug 11, 2006<br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Have you ruled out Wild Cucumber (<i>Echinocystis lobata</i>) ?<br>
  <br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; The paddle that I made for my wife out of White Ash got a user rating
of about 2 out of 10. Shaved down as much as I dared [1.5 x 5/8" near end,
1.25 x 13/16" at mid hand position and tapering to 1/2 " at 5" blade end]
it still weighed more than our longer Spruce paddle. <br>
